Former world No. 1 Roger Federer was a fierce finisher on the tennis court.

Today, Federer served as stirring opener on the race track.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion and Rolex ambassador Roger Federer waved the French Tricolor flag at 4 p.m. local time to start the 93rd edition of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans today.

Sporting sunglasses, Federer looked thrilled conducting the flag-waving start to one of the world's most famous races.

As the Official Timepiece and exclusive major partner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2001, Rolex said in a statement it "recognizes the endeavor and sacrifice it takes to cross the finish line – a journey defined by determination and the pursuit of the extraordinary."
